Mitra Jyothi has come a long way since its humble beginning in the year 1990. To better our endeavours for the visually impaired in the society, we need the continued support of the donors. We aim to work closely with probable sponsors to create effective partnership programs. Donations can be made in the form of cash/cheques/DD/online bank transfer in favour of ‘Mitra Jyothi’. or through online bank transfers.Mitra Jyothi is registered under:

Donors can sponsor any of the programs at Mitra Jyothi, for any chosen duration of time, upon discussion and mutual understanding between the donor and Mitra Jyothi. A memorandum of understanding with complete sponsor program details and payment schedule will be made after concurrence on funding/sponsorship by the donor.
Donations to the General Fund
Donors can make cash donations to Mitra Jyothi’s general fund. These funds are used to cover various operational expenses at Mitra Jyothi.
Donations to the Corpus Fund
Donors can make cash donations to Mitra Jyothi’s Corpus fund.
Donors can sponsor specific events at Mitra Jyothi. It could be occasions like the Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) event, Annual day celebrations, Sponsorship of outdoor excursion of our students, Commemorative Book Release, Graduation day and other such events.
Magazine and such other specific sponsorship
Mitra Jyothi has specific funding needs for its monthly and quarterly magazines in Braille, audio magazines, infrastructure needs like capital investment on various equipment including but not limited to computers, software licenses ,head sets ,UPS, generators, kitchen equipment, refrigerator, tables, chairs, cupboards, beds, mattresses and accessories and various maintenance and operational expenses like building maintenance, upgrades and equipment maintenance and AMC, Internet connectivity, housekeeping etc. Donors can sponsor any such specifics after consultation with Mitra Jyothi and in accordance with the need of the hour.
Mitra Jyothi has specific funding needs for the following
Monthly and quarterly magazines in Braille and audio magazines,

Donations in kind
Various donations in kind can be made after consultation with Mitra Jyothi and ascertaining our current needs. Computers and accessories, Cots, mattresses and accessories, tables, chairs and cupboards, UPS, grocery and head sets are some of the possible donation options.
Make your important life events more meaningful by sponsoring meals to our residential students who are visually impaired. Everyday about 40 - 50 people are provided food at Mitra Jyothi.
- Breakfast Sponsorship for a day - Rs. 1500
- Lunch Sponsorship for a day - Rs. 2500.
- Dinner Sponsorship for a day - Rs. 2500.
- Full day food Sponsorship - Rs.5,000 .
Be a Volunteer
Contribute your time to become volunteers at Mitra Jyothi. A lot of the activities in Mitra Jyothi are supported by our active volunteers. Help our ‘Talking Book Library’ by reading for Mitra Jyothi. We need volunteers to read books in Kannada, English, Hindi and Tamil. Since the outreach of Mitra Jyothi is more in rural Karnataka we need more volunteers who can read Kannada and help us record text books, periodicals, magazines, novels and other educative and general reading materials.
