Mitra Jyothi emerged as a National winner in “Reading 4 Pleasure – NGO” category at India Reading Olympiad 2020. India Reading Olympiad is a unique platform by Food4Thought Foundation which enables, encourages and endorses an ecosystem to create active reading spaces.

Sarojini Triloknath Award
Ms. Madhu Singhal received the prestigious National Level Sarojini Triloknath Award for 2016 from NAB, New Delhi on the 3rd of December 2016 as a recognition of her outstanding contribution towards Education, Welfare and Rehabilitation of visually impaired.
Doctorate by Karnataka State Women’s University, Vijayapura
Ms. Madhu Singhal was honored with an honorary Doctorate, “Doctor of Literature” by Karnataka State Women’s University, Vijayapura, on 3 March 2015 in recognition of her significant contribution for the welfare of persons with disabilities by designing various programs.
Long Service Achievement Award
Saksham Trust presented the Long Service Achievement Award to Ms. Madhu Singhal for promoting & protecting the rights of women with disabilities. The award was presented by Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha on 8th October 2011 in New Delhi. Smt. Sushma Swaraj presented the award to Ms. Madhu Singhal.
IBN7 Bajaj Allianz Super Idols Award
Ms. Madhu Singhal received the IBN7 Bajaj Allianz Super Idols Award in recognition of the extraordinary work in the field of education for persons with visual impairment during 2010.
State Award (Karnataka)
Mitra Jyothi received the State Award (Karnataka) from the Directorate of Disabled Welfare and Senior Citizens on World Disability Day, 3rd December 2010. The award was presented by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr. B. S. Yeddyurappa
National Award (Best Individual)
Ms. Madhu Singhal received the prestigious National Award for outstanding performance in the field of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December 2008 by the Vice President of India Mr. Mohammad Hamid Ansari
National Award (Role Model)
Ms. Madhu Singhal got the prestigious National Award in recognition of her outstanding performance as Role Model among Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) in the category of Visual Impairment. Vice President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu gave the awards on 3rd December 2018.

Nation Builder Award
On 15th September 2017, Rotary Bangalore Downtown presented the “Nation Builder Award” to Ms. Madhu Singhal and Ms. Uma Krishnamurthy for their outstanding service towards the enablement of disabled people especially Visually Impaired.
Deepa Sadana Award
Ms. Madhu Singhal received the Deepa Sadana Award in February 2014.

Received the DAISY Forum of India Quality Certification Award for the quality of work provided by Mitra Jyothi through Talking Book Library for three consecutive years from 2012 to 2014.

Ms. Madhu Singhal received the Sadguru Gnanananda Award in the category Woman Social Entrepreneur, for empowering the visually impaired in 2011 at Chennai.
